Dave, Carol, Ethan, Daniel and Aaron Sweeney arrived in Sydenham Methodist Church in September 2001. During our time in Sydenham Dave completed his Local Preachers’ studies, was accepted as a candidate for the Methodist ministry and has spent the last three years studying in Edgehill College. Dave has been stationed to Fivemiletown circuit. Fivemiletown is a rural community on the border of County Tyrone and County Fermanagh. The circuit consists of three churches: Fivemiletown, Creagh and Clabby. As a family we will move to Fivemiletown at the beginning of July 2010. We have been blessed by the church family in Sydenham that we have been part of for almost 10 years. You have greatly impacted our lives as individuals and as a family in so many ways and we will really miss the fellowship we have enjoyed here. We would value your prayers in the coming months: for Dave as he begins the journey of ministry with the people of the Fivemiletown circuit; for Carol as she continues working for ACET throughout Northern Ireland; for Ethan, Daniel & Aaron that they would settle in quickly to new schools and a new church and that they would make new friends easily; for us as a family that the Lord would equip and resource us; and for the churches in Fivemiletown, Creagh and Clabby that they will accept us becoming part of their church family and community. This is a new step as we seek to follow Christ is where he is leading us. We are excited but apprehensive, scared but sure in the knowledge that God is leading us where he wants us to be. We thank all of you for everything you have done for us as a family. We will never forget our time here and pray that God will continue to richly bless the church at Sydenham.
