Oasis Outing to Scrabo Garden Centre

On Monday the 10th May Oasis headed of to Scrabo Garden Centre for a meal and to create hanging baskets.   It was a lovely night but if everyone remembers it was a wee bit cool! This year we all managed to arrive on time and no one got lost for a change.    As we waited for our meal we were able to chat among ourselves and enjoy the views. After we finished our meal, we went into the garden centre to plant our baskets.  That Monday was Valerie Fullerton’s birthday and as it turned out it was also Dave’s birthday too. Dave was the gentleman who was showing us how to plant up the baskets. So of course we had to sing happy birthday to both of them which Dave found highly embarrassing.   If you have checked out the photo gallery you will see that there was a lot of concentration as we planted up the baskets. It wasn’t that we wanted to get our hands dirty but the blue gloves did give our fingers a bit of warmth.  Everyone had a great time and we have some lovely baskets to remind us of our night out.

Rosie and Walter McCorkell from Strean Presbyterian Church in Newtownards, spoke about their plans to work with Aiminternational. They will be living in Chitsama in central Mozambique amongst the Ndau people. Rosie and Walter showed photos of the area and explained how during previous visits to Mozambique they heard God’s call to serve him in this region. The work will include discipling Church leaders to enable them to be better equipped to pastor their congregations and also to help plant new Churches in the region as the people grow in faith.

Rosie and Walter gave an inspiring account of their future plans and would deeply value our prayer support. Their contact details are:
