Sunday 14 October 2018 – sermons October 15th, 2018

Rev Robin Waugh spoke at the morning service on ‘Brexit – what now?‘. The readings were 1 Timothy 2:1-4 & Hebrews 12:14-28.

At the evening service Rev Robin Waugh reflected on the lectionary readings, Hebrews 4:12-16 and Mark 10:17-31.

Sunday 7 October 2018 – sermons October 8th, 2018

Rev Robin Waugh spoke at the Harvest Celebration on ‘What a wonderful world‘. The readings were Genesis 1:1-5, 24-2:4a and Colossians 1:15-17.

Rev Robin Waugh spoke about ‘worrying‘ at the evening service of healing and wholeness. The readings were Isaiah 35:1-10 and Matthew 6:25-34.

Sunday 30 September 2018 – talks October 1st, 2018

At the morning service Lianne Mulholland spoke of the work of East Belfast Mission. The reading was Matthew 25:31-46.

Rev Robin Waugh reflected on the Lectionary readings of Numbers 11:4-6, 10-16, 24-29 and Mark 9:38-50 at the evening service.

Sunday 23 September 2018 – morning sermon September 24th, 2018

Rev Robin Waugh spoke on ‘Status in the kingdom‘. The reading was Mark 9:30-37.

Sunday 16 September 2018 – talks September 17th, 2018

Emma Dunwoody spoke at the World Development  & Relief service. Listen to her talk. The readings were Isaiah 60 1-3, 18-19 and John 3:16-18.

At the evening service, Rev Robin Waugh spoke about ‘words‘. The readings were Proverbs 1:20-33, James 3:1-12 and Mark 8:27-38.

Sunday 2 September 2018 – morning talk September 2nd, 2018

With 2018 being the 60th anniversary of the church building we heard of ‘Celebrating the story of Sydenham and building on the past‘ from Jack Boyce and Rev Robin Waugh. The readings were 1 Kings 8:22-30 and 1 Corinthians 3:9b-17.

Sunday 26 August 2018 – sermons August 27th, 2018

At the morning service Rev Robin Waugh continued the series of sermons on the 7 churches in Revelation by looking at ‘Philadelphia: the church that tried‘. The readings were Matthew 25:14-30 and Revelation 3:7-13.

The series was concluded at the evening service when we looked at ‘Laodicea: the church that was lukewarm‘. The reading was Revelation 3:14-22.

Sunday 19 August 2018 – sermons August 20th, 2018

Rev Robin Waugh continued his series of sermons on the 7 churches in Revelation.

At the morning service he spoke on ‘Thyatira: the worldly church‘ and the readings were 1 Kings 16:29-33 and Revelation 2:18-28.

At the evening service we heard about ‘Sardis: the church with a false reputation‘. The readings were Zechariah 4:1-6 and Revelation 3:1-6.

Sunday 12 August 2018 – sermons August 13th, 2018

Adam Ewart spoke at the morning service on ‘dealing with controversy and disagreement‘. The readings were Acts 15:1-21; 36-41 and Matthew 12:9-11.

At the evening service, Rev Robin Waugh continued his series of sermons on the churches in Revelation speaking about ‘Pergamum: the church that compromised‘. The reading was Revelation 2:12-17.

Sunday 5 August 2018 – sermons August 6th, 2018

Rev Robin Waugh began a series of sermons on the 7 churches of Revelation.

At the morning service he spoke on ‘Ephesus: The church that lost its love‘. The readings were 1 john 4:7-21 and Revelation 1:19-2:7.

At the evening service we heard of ‘Smyrna – The church under pressure‘. The readings were Philemon 1 and Revelation 2:8-11.

Sunday 21 October 2018

Rev Robin Waugh will lead the Girls’ Brigade Enrolment service at 11.00 am and Sammy Stanfield will be the preacher at the evening service at 7.00 pm. We give a warm welcome to anyone wanting to visit our church and spend time in fellowship with us. Please make yourself known to the minister or door steward.

Bible Study

The mid-week Bible Study meets in The Taylor at 7.30 pm on Wednesday evenings. The current topic is the book of Galatians.

Men’s Breakfast
